Rahim Noor, Seriously, Not Pissing On Anwar?

The old puncher

Everyone had a chance to review Rahim Noor’s appointment as facilitator for the South Thailand peace process.

Everyone, which includes Anwar Ibrahim.

Has it passed anyone’s notice that Mahathir Mohamad knew exactly who he had appointed to get the job done north of Kedah?

Firstly, Rahim Noor punched Anwar in 1998. This is not hearsay, he lost the post of Inspector General of Police and went to jail.

Jail.

The court did not think he was strictly doing his job.

Second, Anwar has had a day to digest this and respond. Rather than Nurul Izzah Anwar being disappointed with the decision, the new president of PKR can speak for himself.

Not a happy camper, but importantly why is her father silent?

130 seats holds the coalition together, and PKR’s 50 can tell Mahathir who can or cannot organise peace in South Thailand.

I used to chat with the late Colin Abraham, and he’d recount on how people like Rahim Noor were instrumental in the 1989 Hatyai peace accord.

But seriously, whether Zamihan Mat Zin was ordered off the situation or the new government is interested in new solutions, Rahim punched Anwar.

Sly fox, seeing Rome burn.

And more so, while Mahathir was prime minister.

Can Mahathir not show restrain and sensitivity in the matter?

Why pull in Rahim when he has been openly violent to Anwar when it is assumed, Anwar replaces Mahathir in two years?

In fact, I am oddly in agreement with Khairy Jamaluddin that the decision is a black eye to Anwar.

Or is this a statement to show, Anwar’s ascension is not foregone?

And if so, what is next?

Why can’t Malaysian politicians just speak frankly rather than using intermediaries? Are they all afraid?
